On 13-17 June 2011, the 12th International Conference on Hand-Arm Vibration (HAV) will be held at the Westin Hotel in Ottawa, Canada. This Conference provides an exceptional sponsorship and exhibit opportunity for interested organizations to reach their target audience efficiently and effectively. Mark your calendars and plan to be there.
Since 1972 when the 1st International Conference was held in Dundee, Scotland, these conferences have provided an important international forum for sharing current knowledge and information on equipment, measurement practices, power tools and protective equipment, and for discussing the continuing challenges of occupational exposures to vibration - medical, epidemiological, engineering and legal.
Now, there are important regulatory initiatives around the world that require increased resources be allocated to assessing workers’ vibration exposures and developing prevention strategies. There is also increasing awareness of vibration problems in industry. As the world-wide market for vibration-prevention equipment and services increases, it is more important than ever for equipment manufacturers and service providers to interact with knowledge leaders.
A key feature of this Conference will be a Workshop on the suitability of the so-called "ISO frequency weighting". A revision to the frequency weighting can be expected to precipitate the re-assessment of hazardous exposures, regulations for limiting exposures, and to changes to hand tools and gloves.
To encourage broader participation in the Conference, the Organizing Committee is offering sponsorship and exhibit opportunities, to market and showcase your products, services, and achievements to an international audience of over 100 researchers, engineers, medical practitioners, and industrial hygienists.
This Prospectus provides details and options for how companies and organizations can become involved. We hope your organization will see the benefit of its name being associated this event.
